This is what happens when the winter sun is strong, but the temperature is still low, I guess — Frosty's south side gets burned away, but he retains his snowmannish figure on the back side.
Everyone here in Grand Junction is going around saying, the weather isn't usually like this (cold and snowy).
It's an apology we may all have to get used to saying.
[UPDATE: I stopped by this morning to find Frosty face down in the yard. The sun and physics had done their dirty deed.]
