Periodically Spot and I have pleasant discussions. As when conversing with all dogs, these are agreeable because one's own voice and opinions tend to dominate the proceedings.
Therefore, it is not all that difficult for me to find Spot in general agreement with yours truly. But when one topic is broached, I see his hackles rise.
The subject concerns trusting the better angels of conservatives.
I am liberal in this, as in most respects. Spot, perhaps being more often on the receiving end of men's true natures, reserves the right to snap, growl and bark.
All I have to say right now is, I was too tolerant, Spotty. You were right.
