Suspending the uncomfortable stuff you've committed to do so you go can pretend to pay attention to a crisis is becoming a Republican campaign hallmark. It's really something to watch the business business-as-usual party trying so hard to look like the party of compassion and change, while avoiding any real scrutiny.

You're a senator, a fourth-term senator from Arizona. You go back to Washington to handle what you need to handle. But don't suspend your campaign. You let your campaign go on, shouldered by your vice presidential nominee. That's what you do. You don't quit.
