Organic Lemonade! How could I resist?
I missed my last lemonade stand opportunity a couple weeks ago by deciding to catch it on a return swing. I didn't want to hold up some of my fellow riders who are less enthusiastic about stopping for any reason that does not involve beer. But by the time I headed back down the Dakota Trail, the kids had closed up shop.
So I hit the brakes this time, even though we'd just finished off a couple of Surlys and lunch on the other side of Lake Harriet.
What makes your lemonade organic, I asked?
We do! Said the girl on the left.
I mean, what's in the lemonade?
Organic lemons from Linden Hill Co-op and organic sugar, she told me. They squeezed the lemons themselves.
The lemonade was very smooth, indeed — not too tart or too sweet. It would've been even better over ice, but it was the best lemonade of the season, even so.
Also the most expensive. But the proceeds go to help children all over the world, said Organic Lemonade's Chief Marketing Officer. They contribute their earnings to Operation Christmas Child.
A thirsty man could do much worse with his money.
